What is the
Rogers Cup TennisAccess Tour?

The Rogers Cup TennisAccess Tour was started 7 years ago with the intention of offering more competitive doubles tournaments, for club level players, across Ontario. With the help of our generous sponsors the Tour has grown from 13 tournaments in 7 cities to over 50 tournaments in 19 cities and gives players the chance to experience new clubs, meet new players, challenge their game and win GREAT prizes!

The Tour offers Men’s, Women’s, Mixed Doubles and TEAM Tennis Tournaments. Players receive a ranking in each category they compete and can choose to play in as many events as they like. There are no memberships fees and we offer partner matching if needed.

New for this season is the addition of Ontario Provincial MD, WD and MXD Senior Tournaments in the following categories: Over 35, 40, 45 & 50. Players who compete in these special tournaments will receive points for their OTA provincial rankings. For the first time EVER, in Ontario or Canada, players can compete in Provincial Sanctioned Senior Mixed Doubles Tournaments and receive a ranking with the Ontario Tennis Association.

The 2007/ 2008 Tour Season begins in May 2007 with the Season Opener and will include the Year-End Championships.  Check out the Schedule , for all the details including how to sign up for each event. Keep checking back as the schedule is always being updated with new events.

Year-End Championships

The Championships consist of a weekend, season-ending tournament, inviting everyone that participated in the Tour in 2007/ 2008 the opportunity to vie for the coveted "Tour" titles!

• Prizes will awarded to the winners and finalists of the main "A" and "B" draws
• Lunch will provided to players over the two days
• A dinner dance will be included Saturday night
• A wide variety of door prizes and fun contests will be offered

2007/ 2008 Rankings

All players will receive points for each round of elimination play as follows:

A Draw:

• Winners: 125 points
• Finalists: 90 points
• Semi-finalists: 70 points
• Quarter-finalists: 50 points
• Round of 16: 35 points

B draw:

• Winners: 65 points
• Finalists: 50 points
• Semi-finalists: 30 points
• Quarter-finalists: 20 points
• Round of 16: 10 Points

Double points will be awarded for certain marquee Tour Stops (Stratford, Hamilton, Waterloo).

Points and seedings apply to the Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories, independently.

• If there is only one draw at the Tour tournament (i.e. no "B" draw), then points will be awarded per the "A" draw schedule.
   
• There has to be at least 8 teams in each to constitute a full "A" and a full "B" draw, otherwise a consolation draw may be run in the place of the "B".

Your total points of your best 3 Tour Stops (MD, WD) and your best 4 Tour Stops (MX) will determine your year-end seeding for the Championships, and will be added to your partner's total points to determine your team's  "seeding" for the Championships.

There will be both "Tour" winners and "Tour Championships" winners, but prizes will be awarded for the "Tour Championships" only, at the end of the season.

Can anyone participate in the Tour?

The target group for this Tour is adult "club-level" competitive players.

For 2007/ 2008, you must not be ranked in the top 20 in any junior Provincial or National singles or doubles categories, nor the Open singles or doubles categories in either Ontario or Canada between April 1st and October 1st, 2006.  In addition, you must play in at least one Tour Stop in 2007/ 2008 to be eligible for the Year-End Championships.
