Stratford Tennis Club

MD, WD: June 12

The majestic Head flag flapped in the breeze at the old Stratford Tennis Club as a great day of tennis unfolded!

Thanks again to all our sponsors, and to Tennis Canada for providing us with great Rexall Centre players' packages!
As usual, Bill took control from early on and did not let go!

Everyone was hoping to have their names added to this prestigious plaque mounted in the club house!
Bill's Little Helpers!

Thanks Guys!

Chris Edwards from Court Plus kept everybody well dressed in Mexx Sport and New Balance attire!
Callum served his time on the spectacular BBQ lunch!

Then a crowd gathered for the first ever sponsor fashion show!

The models got some oohs and aahs from the normally quiet crowd when they began to sport their New Balance, Mexx Sport, Head, and Cambridge Towels gear around the court and as well for a game of around-the-world!

Alright, where's a tennis court?
Models in Action!

Future Tour Stars!
What do I aim for?

Don't you think she's a little young, Milan?
The boys from Kincardine have never seen sun tan lotion like this before!

A study in concentration!

What's the score, again?

The Head players emerged at this event, and most all of them were carried by Liquid Metal technology!

The day had to come to an end, and it did so rather late!

Taking the "A" women's final for a 2nd time in two events, was Kelly Stobbe and Sheila Cunningham (left).  They doubled Cristina Roettele and Moira Ainsworth, 8-4

The "B" women's final saw Cheryl Mitchell and Nicola Ross (right) defeat Shirley Fenton and Carol Wettstein

In a great men's "A" final, Steve Gin and Jason Christie (left) persevered over Kevin Drew and Shelby Evans, 8-5

Great tennis to watch, boys!

In a rather blurry affair in the men's "B" final, Kem Dogan and Mike Oliver (right) finally subdued a somewhat injured team of Jag Patel and Paul Hansford

It turns out that Paul actually cracked a couple of ribs in the match but still continued! The prizes are THAT good!!

The day finished at 10:59 pm.  We know because there was a Quittin' Time Contest, which was won by Shirley Fenton!

The good weather is now officially upon us, so let's move thing into high gear!

The next Tour Stop is at the lovely Dufferin Tennis Club in Brantford, for a great Mixed on Saturday June 19 only. Check it out!

That's all for now.....hope to see you guys dust off those racquets and get out there!  It won't be long until the Tennis Master Canada 2004, and you want to make sure you get tickets for this venue!

Cheers,

Scott & Sandra
